Donuts with Dad!

Hi Everyone!

What a great day it was this past Thursday, when Benjamin & Jonathan's preschool had Donuts with Dad!

And, I got to have not one donut, but TWO!

That cup you see to Jonathan's right was spilled a few moments later...

Yep, a vacuum cleaner...

The Dinosaurs are Coming

I've been starting to get things together for Jonathan's birthday next month. He wants a dinosaur party and all week I have been trying to get the *perfect* photo for his birthday invitation...

This is what happened when I tried to get them at home...

So, before the crazy weather hits tomorrow, I took the boys to the park for a bit today to take a few shots. I did let them play, too. ; )

I am starting to enjoy my DLSR camera more and more. Still learning it....but having fun doing it. I have found several blogging buddies with the same camera that have helped with some good tips.

I love this photo of Benjamin so much....he was seriously sliding fast when I snapped this.

Climbing...

Just being silly...

Brotherly love...

And I did manage to get some fun shots for the invitation...

Jonathan was ready for the momarazzi to stop...

Stay tuned for a ROARING good time at the end of February!

Marshmallow Roasting with Life Group

And continuing with the theme of Blog Catch-up....TWO POSTS IN ONE DAY! Wowza.
--
We have been so blessed to be a part of the Life Group program in our church. Recently, our previous group sadly had come to its end. With two deployments, a job change and a cross-country move, all within the same group, there just weren't enough of us to keep it going.
So, a couple of months ago, we became a part of a new Life Group. To be quite honest, we weren't sure what we were going to do when our previous group stopped meeting. But after a phone call from one of the Life Group program's organizers, we were excited about the new group we were joining.
Although we've known them through the blog/Facebook/ACU world for some time, we've never been able to hang out with Jordan & Debbie Hubbard and their girls. But, in October, they moved to Belton so Jordan could become the new preacher at our church. Talk about an amazing answer to prayer for BCoC. The Hubbards have lit our church on fire for the Lord and it has been a wonderful time of renewal and refocus for all of us.
All of this to say, we are now in a Life Group with....the Hubbards! Along with several other families, we have once again found a wonderful group to call home. And the fact that our boys adore their girls (and vice versa...I think) is an added bonus.
A few weeks ago (yes, I am that far behind on here, people), we hung out at the Weaver's house for a fun night! We had homemade soups and roasted marshmallows. It was the first Life Group I actually remembered to bring my camera, so here are a few moments from our fun night:

Dick & Jordan....the marshmallow roasting masterminds.

Jonathan and Avery....the marshmallow eating masterminds. No roasting necessary.

Benjamin loves a good smore.

Jenae just being the adorable child she is.

Love this gal...Sydney was in our previous Life Group, too!

Debbie putting together a smore.
Too bad I waited until dark to get out my camera....their view in the backyard was so awesome!

Shawna putting out the fire on her marshmallow.

It was pretty chilly that night....a few friends preferred to watch us from inside!

Annika's big ONE

A few weeks ago, my nephew, Aaron and his family from Florida came to visit all of their Texas family. We were excited to not only get to meet his youngest daughter, Annika, but also celebrate her first birthday with her.
If you're keeping track, Annika, along with her sister, Allysa and brother, Trevor, are my great nieces and nephew. Feeling way too old. Whenever I think of "great" aunts, I think of my Aunt Helen...she's in her nineties. To clarify, I am not in my nineties.
Annika's Grandma Debbie threw her a birthday bash at a local Austin restaurant and we drove down for the afternoon.
It was great to see Aaron, Rachelle and their kiddos. You guys have a beautiful family. Wished the miles apart were fewer so our children could hang out more! Thank you for inviting us to be a part of Miss Annika's special day! What a cutie-patootie.

Being the center of attention can be exhausting, huh?

Soon and Very Soon

I am exhausted, behind on work, behind on the house but quite happy and content. Just been a busy couple of weeks.
But, I WILL update this blog again soon. Very soon.

I have several blog posts just waiting on me....
-- Cousin Annika's Birthday Party and a visit from the Floridians in the family
-- LIFEGroup Marshmallow Roasting
-- Fun with those Krazy Kellys.....they're baaaaaack (hooray)!

For tonight, however...
I am putting my feet up. Drinking some Red Diamond tea. And watching tv with the hubs.

Back to Normal

The decorations are packed up
And put back where they'll spend the year
We had lots of good merriment
And spread so very much cheer

Our bellies were filled full
Over and over again
On cookies, treats and dinners
We never saw the end

Santa dropped down our chimney,
And left gifts and fun for two boys
Our playroom got a clean out
And we still have too many toys!

But, we're thankful for the season
And the time we've had to rest
Two full weeks of family fun and
hoping 2010 will be the best!

Happy New Year!
