We Have (Thoroughly) Celebrated

From his actual birthday on Monday to his Toy Story birthday bash today, Little Man has lived it up. And mommy is tired!

Monday morning we had our traditional breakfast cake. Nothing like a bunch of sugar to start the day off right.

Since his birthday fell on President's Day, David was off of work. Yipee! We all went to Red Lobster (Jonathan's pick) and played with toys from Grandma & Grandpa Pecos (this is what my boys call David's parents), Brian & Beth and Great Grandma Dominguez. I always think that you should open a few gifts on your actual day when your party is another day! ; )

Today was the day of the par-tay. And I was so excited that Jonathan chose a "Buzz & Woody" party. There's just SO MUCH you can do with it (and most of the decor can be found in your toy box)! A big THANK YOU to my good friend, Jami, for her help from afar! She did the same theme a year ago for her son, Jaxon!

I learned how to make tissue paper pom-poms...and used them everywhere I could think of! Tried to stick to Buzz's colors.

Barrel of Monkeys banner....there are small monkeys nestled in the points of the triangles.

I even found a place for my oops item! I ordered two etch-a-sketches thinking they were full size and this is what arrived. They hung out in the bathroom.

Pizza Planet Pizza, T-Rex's Dino Nuggets, {Mr.} Potato {Head} Chips & Dips, Rocket Ships (fruit skewers) and Planetary Pretzels were on the menu!

Photobucket
We served tea for the moms & dads and "Jessie's Juices" (Capri Suns) for the little Space Rangers.

I found the idea for Buzz's Rocket Ships somewhere online.

The Army Men Hunt! I stole this idea from Jami. It was like an Easter egg hunt, but with Andy's Army Men from the movie. We told the kiddos that Andy's mom was bustin' out the trash bags before he was leaving for college. They could help save the army men from their doom by collecting them all and taking them home! I was also super excited to find all the camo buckets at Dollar Tree!

John Paul even dressed the part!

Originally I created a poster for a "Pin the Badge on Sheriff Woody" game. Long story as to how that got scrapped...had to do with hours uploading to print! So we played HOT {Mr.} POTATO {Head} with music from Toy Story.

He slept through the whole thing!

It was a fun time. I love home parties. They're a bit more work (cleaning, planning, etc.), but totally fun. I dread the day when the boys are too old for me to plan a fun party with lots of neat details and such!

LOVE it all! It looks like you did an AMAZING job on this par-tay! Never a doubt in my mind that you would though! In the eyes of those boys, you have got to be the coolest Mom! Love ya!

I, too, dread that day when the boys are too old to plan fun parties. It makes me sad to think about it, so I don't. :-)
