It's A-Me, Mario!

Benjamin turned the big SEVEN last week!
We celebrated the weekend before since it was our bye week for football.
We celebrated with our favorite guys...the Mario Brothers.
We invited three close friends for a sleepover/party/Wii tournament.

Thursday morning, we had our traditional breakfast cake and sent our big guy off to school...full of sugar!

David went up and joined Benjamin for lunch and I came a bit later for a cupcake celebration.

The birthday Bento box:

I loved this little thing they did in his class. Benjamin picked seven friends to stand around him as his "candles" while the rest of the class sat around them as the "cake". We all sang to him and the "candles" fell down at the end. So cute!! And for a September birthday, they already had this little routine down pat.

Loving that cupcake!

We finished off the day with dinner out at Rudy's BBQ with my parents (Benjamin's pick...we went there twice last week!). Can't believe time has flown like it has. Love that buddy so much.

Pre-K...Hooray!

Photobucket
It's official...only one more year with a preschooler in the house!
Jonathan started school the very last week of August. He's continuing at St. Chris T-W-Th like last year. He's really enjoying being in the "big kid class". The Pre-K class operates a bit differently than the others at his school: he calls his teachers by "Mrs." and their last name instead of their first as in the younger classes; they also don't hold hands in the Pre-K classes...they walk in a line with a pretend bubble in their mouth; and the biggie (or Jonathan's favorite), the restroom facilities are down the hall instead of in the classroom. Apparently this is "way awesome".

We do have to take the obligatory pic on the pretty grounds at school on the first day.

His teachers, Mrs. Carthey and Mrs. Bickford.
So far he's gotten a good behavior award every day except one. That day he spent nap time whispering to the gal on the nap mat next to his. He didn't understand how he could have gotten into trouble for whispering? As he tells it, "nobody can hear me whisper!"
Came through loud & clear to me! ; )

He is super excited that the best gal friend, Katie, is in his class!

His Bento for this first day of school. Which was completely gone when he got in the car! Success!

Just one more year. I keep begging the preschool director to start a kindergarten class. If only....

Angry for the Birds...

Photobucket
I know I'm waaaaaay behind on this blog (hello, little man is starting his third week of PreK tomorrow and I still haven't put the photos up of that), but I just really wanted to post this.

I'm super excited about the boys' Bento lunches tomorrow. I made this Angry Bird out of a Babybel cheese and some other scraps (cucumber peel, provolone, cheddar) and am so happy with how he turned out! I can't wait to hear their reactions after school tomorrow! ; )
