Trike-A-Thon-Jon

It seems as though this blog has just become a series of events. I sometimes miss keeping up with the "everyday-ness" of life, too. I wish I was more disciplined to restart a Project 365 again. Probably not going to happen! ; )

On to the event...

A couple of weeks ago, Jonathan's preschool hosted a very cool St. Jude's Trike-a-thon. I learned a couple of things at this event: 1) Jonathan is quite the ladies' man amongst the gals in his class and 2) he's the Lance Armstrong amongst the preschool scene. I was actually kind of amazed. It's one thing to watch him ride his bike here in our neighborhood, but when he was "pretend-racing" his friends (and really winning), I was a little shocked. The boy can go! I see training wheels coming off soon.

Leading the group (and, not that I was keeping track or anything, but lapping people, too)!

The Pumpkin Patch(es)

We've had a very fallish month in terms of the trips to the local pumpkin patches we've made...sure wish the weather would catch up with us!

I am captioning a couple of these photos, but other than that, I just like seeing all the orange. Benjamin wasn't in much of a photo mood when we visited patches.
And when we exited Sweetberry Farms, Jonathan threw an all-out fit, allowing us to walk the parental walk of shame to the car, giving nods to others letting them know we truly had it under control. Even though we didn't. Every trip to Sweetberry we have ever made has ended with a Jonathan tantrum. I'm sure they're glad to see us leave.

We went through the kids' corn maze and got totally turned around!
I can't imagine what the adult maze is like!

Is it just me or is this straight out of O Brother Where Art Thou?
We loved the live music out at Silo!

Off to the Island of Sodor

Photobucket
Last Saturday, we were so excited to go and meet one of our favorite friends, Thomas the Train. He made his appearance in Burnet and we had tickets to the early morning ride! Jonathan is the big Thomas fan around here...but both of the boys were thrilled to meet this cute chugger.

Photobucket
Benjamin was waiting for the conductor to come and punch his ticket. The ride was all very official...the announcer would announce our arrival into and out of Sodor, Thomas music played the whole trip and the boys even got certificates stating they were official riders of the railway.

Photobucket
We even had our own personal paparazzi to come out and watch us ride.

A super fun morning! We had to arrive at 7:30 since our train was the first one of the day! Jonathan was worn out by 11 since he had been up since 5:30! It was great, though...we beat the mega crowds! (Over 18,000 were expected at this event for the weekend...Thomas is pretty popular!)

His First "Looth" Tooth

I am behind on this blog. I know it...(really, Mom, I know). I have Day out with Thomas the Train, Sweetberry Farms Pumpkin Patch and Birthday Hullabaloo to post about.

But, now, I just have to share this very important event that just happened. On Friday, October 1, 2010, Benjamin lost his first tooth! Ironically (or maybe not, we're new at this), it was also his first tooth that came in for him when he was a baby.

Daddy did the official "pull".

And out it came!

Benjamin was so thrilled!

Purely adorable (blood & all).
